Germain Arbitrations is led by a former Justice of the Alberta Court of King’s Bench, with additional judicial experience in the Alberta Court of Appeal, the Nunavut Court of Justice, the Supreme Court of Northwest Territories, and the Supreme Court of the Yukon. With a judicial career spanning nearly 20 years, Germain brings unparalleled expertise to the arbitration and mediation process.
Prior to serving on the bench, Adam Germain practiced as a civil litigation lawyer for nearly 30 years in Fort McMurray, Alberta, handling a wide range of disputes, with the exception of labor law. With a strong science background, Germain has a particular interest in resolving science-based disputes such as professional negligence, engineering and architectural matters, and construction conflicts. His business experience also brings valuable insights into cases involving accounting principles, including matrimonial disputes.
In addition to his legal career, Germain is a licensed aircraft pilot with an instrument multiengine rating, allowing him to travel to various locations to conduct dispute resolutions. He is also experienced in virtual mediations and arbitrations, successfully utilizing platforms such as Zoom and Webex with results comparable to in-person sessions.
Based in Edmonton, Alberta, Germain Arbitrations is available for in-person or virtual dispute resolutions and will travel at reasonable rates to accommodate clients’ needs.
